Hervé Léger by Max Azria | New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012

Presenting a show full of models clad in the usual Hervé Léger style of bandage dresses, Max Azria took the label to another level for the Spring/Summer 2012 season, clashing together warrior chic elements and a tribal motif.  Models strutted down the runway, all wearing the gorgeous body hugging dresses and edgy evening dresses juxtaposed with knee-high gladiator boots. Metallic tones of gold, silver and black came along with a simple color palette of white, black and desert brown. Fringed dresses that seem to carry an upbeat and ‘full of attitude’ feel ended the show with a great presence. As always, the bandage and armor like dresses of Hervé Léger didn’t fail to impress me, but to with such a strong reoccurring ‘trend’ for a label, it makes the collection somewhat predictable.  It wasn’t that huge of a favorite for me, but I definitely like it. Check out my favorite looks from the show, along with all the show looks below.

New York Fashion Week | The Introduction

The biggest event in the world of fashion has officially begun, and without a doubt, everyone is psyched and ready to have fun at the runway shows, and at Fashion’s Night Out!  Excuse my lack of posts for the last few days as well as in the near future (blame it on school), but I’m also working quite hard on other projects, and of course my new and revamped blog which should land in a week or two.  This morning I got to see the BCBG Max Azria live streamed show, and as always stunning pieces with great prints and architectural inspiration walked the runway. I can’t wait to post the full articles, but until then, I leave you with an exclusive look into Jason Wu’s fabulous collection which will be hitting the runway quite soon and is the ideal definition of  “Clean and Couture.”

Pulling on one of my favorite models Lindsey Wixson, who is a usual face for the label, Wu dons his ever-chic piece which screams feminine elegance and class at it’s best.  Soft in both color and texture, the shorts and top, which is tamed at the waist with a small leather belt and feature a bunch of sequins, both represent the next summer season well.

I am definitely looking forward to Christian Siriano, Tommy Hilfiger, Lacoste, Michael Kors, Vera Wang, Tory Burch, Diane Von Furstenburg, and tons more, so stay tuned!

Trend Report | The Lace Obsession

To this day no other Trend Report has surpassed the great Denim Jacket post, but I decided to take to the computer and spill the beans on something I’ve seen before, but it has once again returned. I’ve never done a female specific Trend Report, and this article may somehow fall into that category easily.  Like most fashion bloggers and writers, I’m quite up-to-date on fashion’s current movements and changes. Whether it’s been on the Haute Couture runways of Paris or on the street, anyone in fashion can admit that lace, with its strong femininity is trending. If there’s any fabric which can totally define the delicate yet striking nature of women it would have to be lace. Now honestly, I’m not trying to promote what people may see as “nakedness” but I see nothing fashionably wrong with throwing on some chic lace over an incredible under-layer to handle the summer heat. As said before,  this isn’t the first time it’s been popping up; however, balance is incredibly important to retain the vintage or antique feel and poise to the incredible fabric.  It’s ideal to not go overboard or become suggestive, but to remain romantic and classy. Famous lace wearers include my dear beloved Anna Dello Russo, and it’s been on the runway of Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy, Valentino, Elie Saab and that of tons more designers. Now let’s show you girls how to rock lace with elegance and style.

A Star Studded Touch of Glam! | Billboard Music Awards 2011 Best Dressed

It seems as though every time there’s an award show, I always stay up late, stuck on either an iPad, iPhone or Blackberry, tweeting my life away on Twitter. Lol Nevertheless, it’s always fun to get the opinions of others as well as to share my own. Last night, there was a minimal theme in the air and everyone seemed to portray a certain level of  sophistication. However, there were the usual spoilers and complicated messes posing on the red carpet like always.  Once again as with every red carpet shows, the good alone appears on here, so check out my 2011 list of the Best Dressed Celebs who scrolled across the Red Carpet at last night’s event.

Rihanna looked absolutely stunning last night, as she came through in a elegantly tailored and sophisticated white Max Azria suit and nude Christian Louboutin pumps..

Taylor Swift looked quite fabulous wearing a gorgeous Elie Saab gown.

This Herve Leger dress definitely worked well with Fergie's great body and cool look

I was indeed shocked in a good way, when I saw Mary J. Blige working this Marc Bouwer Animal Instincts gown

Kelly Rowland, simple yet stunning pulled off a great look in this Max Azria dress

This great couple of teenage lovers, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez were dressed in great looks from Dolce & Gabbana

Although one may beg to differ, I think Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas was dressed very eccentric; especially with his Christian Louboutin sneakers

Joe Jonas who is a huge style favorite of mine, looked great in his minimal outfit

Hervé Léger by Max Azria | Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYFW

When one observes a Hervé Léger dress, with its amazing linear designs and classic silhouettes, one can never mistake for another designer. This season Hervé Léger keeps with his awesome trend of bandage ‘wrapped’ dresses and presents neutral colors with designers Lubov Azria and Max Azria. The classic silhouettes brought about fabulous designer dresses with a chic and sophisticated appeal. Check out my favorites and then the entire collection.

A bunch of neutral tones and fusions of dark against bright colors came strolling down the runway at the wonderful Max Azria show. Mixing and matching patterns and fabrics once again, the 90’s inspired female minimalist is most certainly ready for her close-up. I loved the leather, the fur, the edgy architectural designs and overall the eye-popping chicness of every look that graced the runway. Take a look at all the show photos below including my favorites.
