Models of the Moment | Current Favorites

Being busy and not knowing what to post to my blog is a horrible combination. I got up quite late this morning and sat wondering what I should publish today and at one point I just didn’t think I should post anything. But… after browsing the web for a bit, I decided I would give to you a round-up of 5 of my favorite models, both male and female.  With number 1 standing on their own, the other four of each category are in no particular order and of course it was hard to put this together since they’re so much great models out there whom I respect and love.

Male Favorite | Robert Evans

From Top Left:  Noah Mills | Eryck Laframboise | David Agbodji | Marlon Teixeira

Female Favorite | Lara Stone

From Top Left: Lindsey Wixson | Liu Wen | Jourdan Dunn | Chanel Iman

La Première Fois | Liu Wen ‘Blue Time’ Vogue Italia

For the first time Liu Wen is dawning her stunning Asian looks in Vogue Italia in a flawless and sophisticated magazine spread entitled ” Blue Time,” which was shot by Miles Aldridge. Rocking a pink do and an a huge influence of vintage sophistication, she was styled by stylist Alice Gentilucci wearing the Spring collection from Giorgio Armani.

Make sure you check out the Behind the Scenes video on Vogue Italia.

Jason Wu | Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYFW

The hottest collection thus far in my books today comes straight from the runway of Jason Wu, young Taiwanese designer. I am indeed impressed with the quality delivered in the collection plus the diversity of looks. Using tons of top models including Jourdan Dunn, Daphne Groeneveld and Karmen Pedaru, the looks showcased, put forward some inspiration from the classic, chic and totally feminine woman, with an addition of masculinity in perfectly tailored looks. The collection was filled with color, amazing patterns and textures, all bouncing back to feminine accentuates of lace and beads. Check out my favorites, which by the way were extremely hard since I loved every single piece…and then the entire collection.

Givenchy Paris Haute Couture | Spring 2011 Couture

Featuring an all Asian cast of top models including Liu Wen and Sun Fei fei, Givenchy gives a hot collection for their Haute Couture showcase in Paris. I was greatly impressed by the creativity and diversity of every piece including the large head pieces which all fell under the Japanese inspired collection. Ricardo Tisci is definitely leading Givenchy in the right direction and this collection takes them high on my list!

Christian Dior Paris Haute Couture | Spring 2011 Couture

Just fierce is what I call this collection for Christian Dior by John Galliano. I am indeed impress with all the intricate designs that were showcased in this collection. Every piece has something special about it, and the commencement of the show with hot red was destined. All the models from Karlie Kloss to Liu Wen, definitely shone in the looks which brought me to the 60’s era where woman dressed to kill in the elegant of outfits. Here are my favorite looks along with all the show photos.

Liu Wen : Model Profile

Known as the biggest model to land out of Asia, Liu Wen was born January 27th, 1988 in Yongzhou, a city in the Hunan Province of China. Before she became a model, Wen worked as a tour guide and her modelling began in 2005 when she entered the ‘New Silk Road World Model Contest,’ which was previously won by her fellow Asian model and international Covergirl Du Juan. Although she did not win, she began working as a model after the contest and became a national success when she landed on the cover of ‘Chinese For Him Magazine.’  After this she began to establish her career with the Chinese editions of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and then she broke onto the international stage in Paris during the Spring 2008 season, where she was signed to Marilyn Management and walked for Chanel and Jean Paul Gaultier.  From that time on, she has been a huge success and in 2009 appeared in seven major campaigns including DKNY Jeans, Barneys New York, Converse, Benetton, Alexander Wang, THE GAP and cK One. Liu Wen recently appeared on the cover of Chinese Vogue and in editorials for W as well as the French, Japanese and Chinese editions of Vogue.
