Jourdan Dunn for Vogue’s September Issue

It’s great when a day after announcing your list of favorite female and male models, one of them become the subject of a big spread in Vogue’s ‘always amazing” September issue.  UK’s best, Jourdan Dunn appears clad in the best of the Fall/Winter season, from the likes of 3.1 Philip Lim, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Dior, Rick Owens and tons more all shot by David Sims and styled by Marie-Am√©lie Sauv√©.  All the looks with utilitarian and military influence, are topped with Jourdan’s fierce and structured face which is furthermore adorned by a short straight hair-do with brown highlights. Once again, Jourdan pulls off her ‘je ne sais quoi’ look, for the amazing spread. Can’t wait to pick up my issue. ūüôā

Models of the Moment | Current Favorites

Being busy and not knowing what to post to my blog is a horrible combination. I got up quite late this morning and sat wondering what I should publish today and at one point I just didn’t think I should post anything. But… after browsing the web for a bit, I decided I would give to you a round-up of 5 of my favorite models, both male and female. ¬†With number 1 standing on their own, the other four of each category are in no particular order and of course it was hard to put this together since they’re so much great models out there whom I respect and love.

Male Favorite | Robert Evans

Prada Fantasy Lookbook | Spring 2011

Prada once again presents a plethora of crazy and interestingly inspiring images for their highly anticipated Spring 2011 Fantasy Lookbook. With the jazzy looks that sauntered down the runway last September, they bring to life the shapes, colors, patterns and pieces found in that ready-to-wear collection. Starring many top models including Arizona Muse, Jourdan Dunn, Jac Jagaciak, Luka Badnjar and many others, it pulls together the artwork of Alexander Reichert and Fausto Fantinuoli, while including some wild animals and all shot by photographer Philip Meech. Jourdan Dunn : Model Profile

Coming out of the United Kingdom, now supermodel Jourdan Dunn who is ranked as the second¬†biggest black ¬†female model, was born August 3rd 1990 in London, England. At the age of 16, Jourdan was discovered in a local Primark store by the ¬†prominent modelling agency, Storm Agency, who also by the way discovered Kate Moss. In the year 2007, just one year after being signed, she made her debut in the New York Fall shows, walking for Marc Jacobs, Polo Ralph Lauren and a couple others, while also being featured as a ‘new star’ on British Vogue. ¬†2008 came and she became the first black model to walk for Prada in over a decade, in the same year, she appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia July 2008 issue which was completely devoted to black models and in the same month, was also shot for an editorial in American Vogue. Among those she also won the¬†British Fashion Council’s “Model of the Year” Award and was listed on Style.com as one of the Top 10 newcomers. ¬†Throughout her career she has amassed tons of accomplishments and overtaken a number of feats but she continues to make her mark in the industry and lives up to what Storm Management¬†Sarah Doukas said,¬†“I feel, if she does have great success, she will have a big effect on the way people look at different kinds of beauty.” Having walked over 60 shows in Spring 2009, she has ganered lots of attention on her stunningly long legs and for her great walk. Check out some great photos of Jourdan in her ‘element.’ Read the rest of this entry

Tommy Hilfiger | Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYFW

Always trying to reinvent preppy and the ultimate ‘American’ style, Tommy Hilfiger presented his women’s Fall 2011 in classic style on Sunday. Opening with some tailored looks and as stated moving into a fresher way of preppy, the collection had a very sophisticated feel to it and was¬†beautifully¬†crafted. Taking fabrics and making them much more than they were felt a trend there, as leather, shearling¬†and other materials were beautifully presented in the best of looks from the show. Overall, the sexy and chic woman was what Hilfiger pulled off and most certainly, he did it well. Check out my favorite looks from the show and the collection slide show below.
