Postcards from New York Fashion Week (Day 4)

Fashion Week in New York City is almost over, and although some of us hate the thought of it, many alike me who work in fashion are glad for the break.  I’m glad for your continual support towards me, and of course Adrian with my new Postcards column and I do hope you enjoy all that is to come. Yesterday was a great day, filled with fabulous shows like DKNY, and Tommy Hilfiger’s Women’s collection. Thankfully Adrian got the chance to be out and about again, shooting exclusively for La Mode Dimitri and all our dear readers. Spotted once more was Anna Dello Russo, Bryan Boy and Nina Garcia, along with some more great faces in the industry, like Brad Goreski, models Melodie Monrose, Marihenny Rivera, Jonathan Marquez and Fernando Cabral.  See Photo Collection

DKNY | New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012

Summertime fabulous is the only term I can find to describe the hot designs that had the runway burning up today at Donna Karan’s Spring/Summer 2012 show. A substantial deal of color was the hype at today’s show, as all the models strutted down the concrete runway topped by wide-brimmed hats, for the extreme summer heat. The collection seemed to focus on sexy feminine looks, perfect for New York’s average woman on the go.  Opening the collection was a variety of minimal looks featuring neutral tones like black and navy blue, some in the shape of a blazer-dress which interestingly seemed fit for the professional along with some draping silhouettes free in their flow. After this, came the mega-surge of color and print. A pants suit completely covered in blue and red flowers, was accessorized with a bag, hat and stunner pumps all plastered with the same print and boasting loads of attitude. Lightening up a bit, Donna threw in some shorts, summer windbreakers, horizontally striped ensembles, then tweed suit for the perfect femme.  What seemed to be a mixture of animal prints covered the runway in green, transitioning to black, then to sheer looks in desert tones. Absolutely stunning! I’m sure that stylish women all of the world are ready to take this collection by storm. Check out my favorite looks from the show, as well as the entire collection below.

Jourdan Dunn for Vogue’s September Issue

It’s great when a day after announcing your list of favorite female and male models, one of them become the subject of a big spread in Vogue’s ‘always amazing” September issue.  UK’s best, Jourdan Dunn appears clad in the best of the Fall/Winter season, from the likes of 3.1 Philip Lim, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Tommy Hilfiger, Dior, Rick Owens and tons more all shot by David Sims and styled by Marie-Amélie Sauvé.  All the looks with utilitarian and military influence, are topped with Jourdan’s fierce and structured face which is furthermore adorned by a short straight hair-do with brown highlights. Once again, Jourdan pulls off her ‘je ne sais quoi’ look, for the amazing spread. Can’t wait to pick up my issue. 🙂

Donna Karan Campaign | Fall 2011

I always seem to fall in love with Donna Karan’s campaigns season after season. This season, she portrays what I’d define as the perfect lady transitioning  in all sophistication and glamour, from a busy day in the office to a night out. With the use of silver hues, a touch of fur and the flawlessness of Isabeli Fontana, the busy day in New York City is shot by none other than Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin and styled by Nicoletta Santaro.

DKNY | Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NYFW

Another that I was definitely looking forward to, was the DKNY show, and without a doubt in my mind, Donna Karan really delivered. Having a huge batch of cool looks while starting  with the dark tones then moving slowly into bursts of color and versatility, she presented the tailored, the ultimately chic and feminine line of female looks. Check out my favorites plus the collection photos below.

Donna Karan Campaign | Spring 2011

Set between the lens of Patrick Demarchelier and a basically shaped & neutrally toned background, models Abbey Lee Kershaw and Karlie Kloss wear the amazing sophisticated and upscale ‘loose’ looks from Donna Karan. The campaign seems to have fallen into the category of some of my favorite campaigns this season, with its sultry and sexy, yet simple feel.

DKNY Campaigns | Spring 2011

Tonight I am going to present you with three DKNY spring campaigns all in one post, first time I’ll be doing this but trust me, it’ll be fun! Shot in the streets of New York City by photographer Nathaniel Goldberg, the campaigns feature some of the best models in the industry like, Corey Baptiste, Kori Richard, Max Motta, Jasmine Tookes, Tatiana Turin and Mariya Melnyk. The campaigns all capture the extremely fast-paced city life and showcase different looks from casual and relaxed to upscale, chic and classical. So without further ado…I give you the DKNY Spring Campaign, DKNY Men Campaign and the DKNY Jeans Campaign.
