The city of love has finally landed with yet another season of menswear collections, and as always I’m ready and excited! Mugler opened the week of shows with a collection dubbed “Brothers of Arcadia” supposedly inspired by Greek mythology and unsurprisingly filled with Nichola’s interpretation of Greek Gods. Being his second collection for the label Thierry Mugler, he presented a versatile lineup of looks each having their own special elements. Whether it was a burst of color, glitter, denim, leather or transparent fabric, the looks (although not what I quite expected) definitely carried the Mugler feel to them. In the beginning I thought there would have been more looks channeling strong Greek Mythology and following on from the video previews which were coming out over the last couple of days, but nevertheless it was a great show. There was a good set of classic tailoring contrasted with skimpy swimwear and casual looks. Colors ranged from Black and white, to grey, lavender, green and orange. Like in the video, tons of accessories were the highlight, some men came ready for war with metallic headpieces, while others wore metallic silver braces around their necks, earrings and the colorful shoes definitely did not go unnoticed. In the end, a stampede of men who overall looked ready for battle took to the stage fronted by the three forerunners with helmet like head pieces and the ‘leader’ with an armor like accessory (which I definitely need) fitted to his arms. Check out my favorite looks from the show, along with all the looks from the collection.
