I can’t remember the last day that I covered a Runway show. It was probably the Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter show in Paris which closed out all the amazing shows for F/W 2011. Resort collections were nice, but weren’t much of an interest to me, so I took the opportunity to get psyched for São Paulo Fashion Week and ready myself once again for another busy fashion show season. Yesterday was the opening day of the 31st edition of São Paulo Fashion Week and with a lineup of great designers, Animale opened the week of proceedings when the clock struck 5PM Brazil time. Powerfully inspired by Southern France, the collection used fabrics like linen, silk and some sequins to bring across the very relaxed and breezy atmosphere which one captures in Southern France. Seen throughout the looks were base colors of Blue and White with offsets like grey and lavender. A reinvented romance and femininity were definitely elements on the mind of designer Priscilla Darolt, when she began hard work on this collection. With a supermodel cast like Joan Smalls and Raquel Zimmerman, it was overall an inspiring ahow, and I look forward to all the remaining shows, as to give my final say on which ones were my favorites. Check out my favorites from the Animale show below, along with all show photos.
