I am quite sure that the entire world is aware of the fact that the fashion industry is changing day by day. I too see it changing right before my eyes, and it’s honestly changing for the better. More and more are we seeing a huge growth in independent designers, not only designing general products, but bringing products of a high value and standard to the market. Acceptance has always been a big issue in the industry, and this may have been shown through elements like racism or discrimination of size and social status. But let’s not forget what fashion is, simply the expression of one’s feelings, through the use of clothing and accessories, and with this, every one has the freedom of expression. The June 2011 cover of Italia – shown to the left- has been on the lips of many fashion enthusiasts across the world, and for the most part, it has gotten good reviews. What’s so different about it? Well, if I can be completely straight here, let’s ask ourselves when last we’ve seen a magazine cover with something other than an anorexic or close-to-anorexic model, with cascading hair and flawless skin. Probably once in a lifetime. But who cares! I’m glad to see something different for a change, knowing very well that change is always for the better, and is very much so inevitable. Tara Lynn, Candice Huffine and Robyn Lawley all look great in their lingerie, cheers to Vogue Italia.
